Devotions

I want this page of my website to serve a three-fold purpose. First of all, it will be somewhat of a daily journal to help me sort through my thoughts and personal applications from my daily quiet times with God. Writing things down helps most people make sense of what they are thinking and learning, and it’s helpful for future reference and reflection.
Secondly, it will help me stay transparent with others about what I am learning each day. If you are reading this, feel free to talk to me about the things I write about here. It will be like eating a meal in public. You can see what I’m eating and digesting and you can see and inquire about what health benefits it has for me, if any.
Thirdly, hopefully it can be a resource to encourage and challenge others in their own personal lives and daily devotions.
Hebrews 4:12-13 says, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (NKJV). I’m excited to see how the Word of God will work in my life by writing about it, and you’re welcome to follow along if you want to.

By way of clarification, all quotations from Scripture will be from the New King James Version unless otherwise stated. I also like other versions, but this is the one I most often use for devotions.

Here begins a new melody to be offered up to God…
